Thanksgiving is officially over and the next holiday is finally Christmas!
It’s finally time to count down to Christmas. I think advent calendars would make great gifts so I put together my own to gift out. Mine turned out to be really large since I put clothing in my box but you could always make it small to fit whatever it is you want to gift.
Materials I used:
- Gift boxes (I used 3 total and used the lids as well)
- Scissors
- Tape
- Cardstock paper poster board (mine is huge so I used a poster board)
- Gift wrap optional
- Tissue paper
- Ribbon
- Actual gifts
I started with creating sections in the gift boxes by cutting strips of paper that would fit into the box. Then I taped the boxes next to each other to create one large box. Once I have 25 sections within that large box, I cut out “doors” on the poster board. I used black and white poster board to create a pattern and taped them together after I cut out the tabs.
Under the “doors”, I taped a looped red ribbon on the backside’s edge and then pushed the ribbon to the front. With the ribbon on the front, I taped a piece of card stock paper on the top of the ribbon that was taped down; this way the tab/flap would stay put. Then I wrote on numbers on the front of the “doors”. After placing the gifts into the sections in the box, the poster board was taped over the box. The advent calendar is now done and ready to start counting down.
Are you ready for Christmas?

I used to have Advent Calendars every year but I don’t have one for this Xmas yet. I think I should get one, at least with chocolate 😛 Yours look way nicer though 😉

DIYs are my favorites, interactional and so so fun. This is so clever and creative. It is not too easy creating an idea like this.
