April is over!
So this month, I started my last quarter, got an internship, and really just didn’t have a lot of time. But of course, I managed to go on a shopping spree because of the 15% off at Sephora hahah.
Here’s a recap of my month from instagram, which is basically spending my afternoons in DTLA, finding nice places to eat, and rushing to finish my homework behind the scenes:
This month, I spent quite a lot just on makeup and skincare.
I rebought some items that I’m close to finishing.
Olehenriksen Truth Serum: this is by far my favorite serum to date. This is probably my 3rd or 4th bottle. It claims to “help brighten, firm, revive, and smooth skin”. Though I don’t notice too much of the firming and reviving skin part, I do like that it brightens and doesn’t make my face look like it has eraser shavings after I apply makeup .
Klorane Shampoo with Oat Milk: My favorite shampoo at the moment. This will be my 3rd bottle I believe. It’s a really gentle shampoo that works well for my daily hair washing habit.
Klorane Conditioner with Essential Olive Extract: I’ve been using the conditioner with oat milk along with the shampoo and this time I’m just changing conditioner to another line from this brand. I feel like that oat milk conditioner is a bit too gentle and doesn’t seem to do much for my hair. I haven’t tried this one yet but it says it’s for thinning hair so I’m going to try it just for that lol.
Some newer things I’m trying includes:
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil: I’ve tried this in the past few days and I really like it so far. It removes pretty much all the stubborn makeup without having to feel like I’m scrubbing my face too hard. I was using a balm type makeup remover previously and it felt like there was a film of wax that just doesn’t wash off and had to be scrubbed off with a towel. The only down side to this is that it can be a mess when you’re traveling.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment: I finally decided to try this out thanks to Elizabeth from Clothes to Youuu. It is a bit pricey but I do like the convenience of removing an extra step from my morning (any extra step I could remove, I would do it just for a little bit more sleep). I tend to put on a lip tint and a lip balm but this is a 2-in-1.
Kate Somerville Eradikate Acne Treatment: I haven’t tried this one yet but again Liz recommended it especially for those under the skin kind of pimples. (Note: she is definitely going to be a good sales person if she ever decides to take that route LOL)
I just love getting samples at Sephora. This time in addition to the 3 samples, I decided to just spend my reward points for this Clinique Pep-Start pack. The samples from this one is actually a pretty good size and it comes with 4 products, including an exfoliating cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream, and mascara. Though I mainly got it to try the eye cream. I have terrible dark and extra dry circles…
For May, my goal is to try to save some money hahahah. How was your April and what’s your plan for May?

You look like you had a super productive month! All the food and those beauty goodies! Plus congrats on your internship!! You will have to tell me what you think of the Klorane. I have thin hair and I am always after something to make it look thicker. I will have to read up on Klorane. Is it natural?

I don’t think Klorane is natural. It doesn’t necessarily make the hair look thicker either but I like that I have a lot less fall out after I used it. Hope that helps!
