Happy Holidays!
Time is going by so fast! I just finished two whole quarters of fashion school, finals are finally over, and I officially started winter break this week haha. I finally had some time to quickly wrap gifts and make Christmas cards.
It’s always been a habit of mine to make Christmas cards to accompany the gifts I give out. This time I made snowflakes for my cards.
Materials I used:
- Tissue paper
- 8 x 11 inch cardstock paper
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Markers
I started by cutting the paper in half and folding it in half to be the card. Then I cut the tissue paper into small rectangles (no specific size, and doesn’t have to be perfect).
Then I folded the tissue paper in half and from there in half again in both directions to leave a cross mark.
Right at the point of the fold, I folded it until the corner touched the cross.
I then fold that in half
Then I folded that along the side of the triangle that was made.
Then, flip it over and with what’s left of the paper, I folded it down and it should look like a triangle as shown.
Right at the point of the triangle that was formed previously, I would just cut it off in different zig zag shapes. On the other edges, I like to cut out different triangles. You really could cut it any way you like and it’ll still look kind of like a snowflake.
Unfold it and it should look like this. Repeat, be creative, and there would be a lot of paper snowflakes.
I simply glued the ones I liked onto the front of the card, decorated with a silver marker and it’s completed.
I’m going to make a couple more of these, wrap some more gifts, and get ready for Christmas. Since I still have to work this week, I’m super excited for that one day off.
I’m going to sleep in! What are your plans for the holidays?
