Ipsy August 2016

Midterms are finally over for me and this past week I received my Ipsy bag.

This month’s bag is really beautiful and possibly my favorite Ipsy bag so far. The bag itself was illustrated by Michelle Phan to inspire the dreamer in all of us.

The bag is white on the back side and features a girl and lots of pastel colored cosmetics on the front. It’s definitely a very dreamy colored bag.

The theme this month is Sugar Highness…

And as per every month there are 5 items:

NYX Professional Makeup – BORN TO GLOW LIQUID ILLUMINATOR in Gleam

This is a highlighter that claims to “easily blends into skin for a natural look”

Josie Maran – Whipped Mud Mask in Vanilla Apricot

This is the first argan oil mask from this brand that aims to “clarifies, refines, firms, nourishes and soothes” the skin.

Organic Surge – Perfecting Face Polish

This face polish is an exfoliator that “removes dirt, impurities and dead cells to give a peaceful glow”. I’ve received an exfoliator in one of the previous bags and really liked Ipsy’s recommendations so I have pretty high expectations for this one as well.

Lord&Berry – 20100 maximatte crayon lipstick in Intimacy

This is crayon lipstick in a subtle pink color. I’m not one for trying bold lip colors but this one looks natural enough to try.

Beauty For Real – I-LINE 24-7 Eyeliner in Black Magic

I actually don’t use black eyeliners so this will be useful for when I need a black

Here are the colors of the illuminator, lipstick, and eyeliner swatched on my hand. The lip color is a really pretty neutral pink. Not so excited about the other 2 though lol.

What did you get in your Ipsy bag this month?

  1. Bag twins! I ended up loving everything in my bag. (Well, I’m neutral on the Organic Surge, but that’s because I’ve been spoiled with holy grail scrubs & cleansers). Gleam blends out pretty subtle, especially if you use it under a powder, so you may end up enjoying that one too.
