As a child growing up in the 90s, I remember choker necklaces being the “it” fashion accessory and the trend is recently making a comeback.
With some old necklaces, I decided to upcycle the charms to use for a choker necklace.
I first started by detaching the charms from an old necklace. With two strands of brown suede cords (one longer to fit my neck and one shorter piece), I tied a bow using the shorter strand onto the longer one.
I attached a jump ring onto the bottom of the bow so the charm could follow under. After making sure how well the choker fits, I tied the ends onto jump rings and added one clasp onto one of the ends. Then, the choker was completed.
If you don’t like the bow detail, you could leave it out as I did in a previous post here. Would you be upcycling some of your old necklaces and accessories too?
Happy Crafting!

Thank you. I don’t really like gold but it surprisingly fit the brown very well

What a pretty DIY! I love how unique it is too. I’ve been totally into the choker trend, but I haven’t seen one with a bow yet!
