Birchbox January 2016

If you follow me on instagram (and if you don’t please do!), you would’ve seen that I received my very first Birchbox the other day.

This is the January box but I received it early February so I was pretty excited when I got it in the mail. This would be the second monthly beauty box that I’ve subscribed to; I had Ipsy for a while and was very tempted to subscribe to Birchbox. When I bought a gift subscription for my best friend, I made the plunge to get one myself as well.

The box was delivered in an orange cardboard box and was quite cute in comparison to other packages you would receive in the mail. It always feels like I’m receiving a gift whenever I receive these packages and this one is no different. After I opened the orange box, there is another pink box in which it encases the actual Birchbox. Once I finally got to open the box, there is a layer of tissue paper and under it are the 5 products for the month. This box in particular also has stickers for the front of the box to create your own theme for the year.

Beautiful Nutrition Grapefruit Detox Shine Repair Shampoo and Conditioner

I was pretty surprised to receive a shampoo and conditioner. It claims to “Treat your strands to a deep, refreshing clean with this sulfate-free shampoo enriched with a hefty dose of grapefruit seed extract to revive hair’s natural shine and vibrance.” I’ve been trying to change haircare products so it’s nice to receive something I’ll probably be trying.

derma e Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid

This serum is supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles which is tempting. I don’t really have much wrinkles but I could see that it’ll come in handy as the mid twenties come creeping near.

Cargo Swimmables Shadow Stick

A girl could never have too many eyeshadows right? I feel like I receive quite a lot of eyeshadow from these subscription boxes but nonetheless it’s still fun to receive another color to try. It has a creamy formula which I like; I received the “Coral Reef” color and it has a little bit of a shimmer.

Peripera Peri’s Tint Water

This one is by far the product I was most excited about in this box. I’m a big fan of Korean makeup products and lip tints in general so this is the perfect combo. I received the tint in strawberry juice which seems to be a bright red color.

What do you think of the January Birchbox?

  1. Those stickers!!! Oh my gosh, stickers are my everything. But also, you should definitely do a review for the Peri’s Tint Water! Korean packaging and makeup products are always so on point 🙂
