My Weekend in Little Tokyo

This weekend I had to work and decided to stop by Little Tokyo afterwards since it was really close by. I haven’t hung out in this area for a while except to get ramen after work.

We first stopped by Mikawaya at the Japanese Village Plaza for some mochi ice cream. The place was pretty small but really packed. I got the coffee flavored one! Of course we also stopped by the Mitsuru Cafe which is right across for some red bean cake and Takoyaki.

Our main stop here in Little Tokyo was for Spitz, a small Mediterranean place; the small restaurant seemed a little out of place in Little Tokyo. They had very unique decor with drawings all over the walls and it was a very casual environment where you order at the front but they also featured a bar. I came here mainly for the street cart fries that was raved about on Yelp.

After the little trip, I went back to Bleu House, near my house, for the Icy Milk there.

On a side note, I just received my DSLR in the mail this weekend. I got a Canon Rebel T5i Kit that came with a photo printer and paper. I also bought a camera strap separately. There was a really great deal on Ebay; the whole kit was $749 and there was a $350 mail in rebate. It was a super good deal so I decided to purchase my first DSLR. Can’t wait to start using it!

  1. Do you have a link for your camera strap? I really like it! Congratulations on your first dslr, I was thinking of upgrading to the T5i too but I might just wait a while longer and get the T6i. Little Tokyo looks beautiful. I went there 7 years ago so my memory is a bit blurry but I believe I remember that red bean cake place 🙂
Have a great start to the week hunny!
    MUCH LOVE KAREN
